The Office of the Vice President of the Republic of the Philippines (hereinafter, the “OVP”) was re-organized pursuant to Article VII of the 1987 Constitution. The OVP is mandated to provide staff assistance and support to the Vice President of the Republic of the Philippines in the performance of his tasks and functions as the second highest public official of the country.
Essentially, the OVP assists the Vice President in the exercise of his five basic functions, namely: (1) executive, (2) ceremonial, (3) advisory, (4) constituency and (5) administrative. In ensuring full assistance and support for the Vice President in the performance of these functions, the OVP is continuously guided by its mission to be of utmost and dedicated service to each and every Filipino.
The information aims to provide a general view of the commitments, advocacies, procedures and requirements of the OVP Social Services, under the inspiring leadership of Vice President Maria Leonor G. Robredo.
