This website adopts the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG 2.0) as the accessibility standard for all its related web development and services. WCAG 2.0 is also an international standard, ISO 40500. This certifies it as a stable and referenceable technical standard.

WCAG 2.0 contains 12 guidelines organized under 4 principles: Perceivable, Operable, Understandable, and Robust (POUR for short). There are testable success criteria for each guideline. Compliance to these criteria is measured in three levels: A, AA, or AAA. A guide to understanding and implementing Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 2.0 is available at: https://www.w3.org/TR/UNDERSTANDING-WCAG20/

Statement of Vice President Leni Robredo on the March 7 Massacres

There is no other way to describe this: It was a massacre. And it came just two days after the President himself ordered state forces to “ignore human rights,” kill communist rebels, and “finish them off,” in his rant before the National Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict.

Message of Vice President Leni Robredo on International Women’s Day

Today we affirm the strength of women, and celebrate the years of tireless struggle that our foremothers went through so that the women of today have wider pathways to empowerment.

There is much to be proud of: The right to vote, improved economic and political participation, and stronger legislation protecting women’s rights embody a world that has become more gender-equal over the past several generations. Despite these gains however, the road remains long. The realities on the ground paint a picture that remains far from i...

      Quezon City Reception House

Magandang gabi.

Statement of Vice President Leni Robredo on the termination of the 1989 UP-DND Accord

The UP-DND Accord was forged more than three decades ago: a safeguard established in the aftermath of a warrantless arrest of a staff member of the Philippine Collegian, the UP student paper, in front of Vinzons’ Hall, the student center, by operatives of the military. This was in 1989, when the atrocities inflicted by the Marcos dictatorship and its armed agents on members of the University community – students, teachers, and residents alike – still burned vividly in the memories of many. When murder, tortur...
