    Housing Agencies to Cut Down Housing Application Processes

    24 August 2016

    Cebu City – Vice President and Housing and Urban Development Coordinating Council (HUDCC) Chair Leni Robredo witnessed the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the Social Housing and Finance Corporation (SHFC) and the Housing and Land Use Regulatory Board (HLURB) to streamline the processes of application for housing in both government agencies Tuesday.

    “Natutuwa tayo na kasama natin ang SHFC and HLURB sa pangarap na mas mapabilis ang pagpoproseso ng mga pabahay para sa ating mga kababayan,” VP Leni Robredo said.

    The ceremonial signing took place in Barangay Luz, Cebu City in celebration of the 28th Anniversary of the Community Mortgage Program (CMP) of SHFC.

    With the MOU, both agencies agreed to have

    1. Reduced documentary requirements for clearances, permits and/or licenses;
    2. Reduced processing time and expediting of procedure through establishment of common or accessible offices;
    3. An establishment of common and dedicated databank to facilitate verification of documents and approval of applications; and
    4. The identification of priority projects and priority local government units where such projects will be undertaken or implemented.

    In addition, VP Leni awarded 12 land titles to Cebuano beneficiaries of the CMP who paid for the land over the course of 25 years.

    “Ang gusto sana natin pairaling modelo, kayo ang magpaplano para sa sarili ninyo na nagawa ninyo rito sa Brgy. Luz. Ang gobyerno, kami, nandito para tugunan ang mga plano ninyo,” VP Leni said.

    “Iyong pinakamalaking boses sa conceptualization, kayo pa rin,” she added.

    The Vice President and HUDCC Chair is working with the 6 key shelter agencies on a one-stop shop and center for a more efficient processing of housing applications.
