At 3:00 pm, the Vice President attended the Wednesday Forum in UCCP Cosmopolitan Church, Manila. The Wednesday Forum was established by the late Senator Jovito R. Salonga and the late Rev. Dr. Cirilo A. Rigos in 1973 during martial law as a venue for weekly open discussions of issues affecting the Filipino people. It has evolved into a monthly forum for church workers, professionals, and students to gather and examine issues from the perspectives of faith and shared ethical considerations. This forum focused on discussions about the current Philippine situation.
In her message, the Vice President talked about the importance to focus on priorities despite the many challenges the country is facing today. “And the enormity of the responsibility of fighting for truth should never be the reason why we stop doing the work we do. More than just taking the hits, we must get used to pushing back and reminding ourselves of our mission. And for me, that mission is to serve our people.”
