At 8:00 am, the Vice President attended the UP Junior Finance Association (UPJFA)’s 50thAnniversary Ball: The Golden Galain Marquis Events Place, Bonifacio Global City. The event was the biggest alumni homecoming and celebration of the organization’s successes and legacies over the last fifty years. UPJFA is a duly recognized university-wide student-run organization with over 350 members based in Cesar E.A Virata School of Business. It is the only organization in the university to have the distinction of fostering educational advancement in the field of Finance.

In her speech, the Vice President talked about the importance of teaching financial literacy. “With your help in educating our nation, more of our young people are now learning how to manage their personal finances. I heard that you have been going around the country, going to various regions and provinces, to stage financial literacy events and these have been very well-attended. I commend you greatly for your advocacy, because financial literacy is critical for our nation. Because inclusion, especially for the unbanked, is necessary to sustain our country’s growth path. Now more than ever, when the world is financially, socially, and politically divided, it is imperative that our people are lifted from ignorance and poverty.”
