This website adopts the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG 2.0) as the accessibility standard for all its related web development and services. WCAG 2.0 is also an international standard, ISO 40500. This certifies it as a stable and referenceable technical standard.

WCAG 2.0 contains 12 guidelines organized under 4 principles: Perceivable, Operable, Understandable, and Robust (POUR for short). There are testable success criteria for each guideline. Compliance to these criteria is measured in three levels: A, AA, or AAA. A guide to understanding and implementing Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 2.0 is available at: https://www.w3.org/TR/UNDERSTANDING-WCAG20/

VP Leni Robredo on Mayor Espinosa

    7 November 2016

We extend our heartfelt condolences to the family of the late Albuerra, Leyte Mayor Rolando Espinosa. May God be with you in these trying times.

In light of this, we are alarmed by the recent events that led to the death of Mayor Espinosa.

Given the peculiar context, this killing raises a lot questions on the official accounts of CIDG.

The unlawful event even puts into question the integrity of the institution.

Thus, we ask: who will police the police?

We call for the investigation to be thorough, fair, and swift, and to ensure that no whitewash will happen.

We cannot afford the further erosion of our people’s trust in our justice system if those who take the law into their own hands are not found and prosecuted.

We hope that this is not an indication of a nation failing to uphold the rule of law and a sovereign unable to protect its own citizens. We need to reinforce the trust of the people in our judicial system.
