ALIMA LGBTQIA Plus Zamboanga del Sur Inc. received a P150,000 livelihood grant as it became the sixth beneficiary of the Mag Negosyo ta 'Day (MTD) Program of the Office of the Vice President (OVP).
The OVP handed over the cheque to the group in a ceremony held at the ALIMA LGBTQIA Plus Zamboanga del Sur Inc. office in Barangay Balangasan, Pagadian City in Zamboanga del Sur on March 8. The ceremony was attended by MTD Program Focal, Karen Gilian Flores, and officials of the organization led by Rey Cimafranca.
ALIMA, an association of LGBTQIA registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission and Department of Labor and Employment, has 100 members. ALIMA aims to provide opportunities for LGBT community members interested in earning and gaining entrepreneurship experience by selling quality and affordable hair care products for the community.
MTD is an OVP flagship program aimed at promoting entrepreneurship among Filipinos. The OVP hopes to assist more groups through the program and help them develop through entrepreneurship.
