OVP grants MTD fund to urban poor group

SOLID Consumer Cooperative became the fifth beneficiary of the Mag Negosyo Ta 'Day (MTD) fund, receiving a P150,000 livelihood grant.

The cooperative, which has members from the urban poor sector in Barangay Addition Hills in Mandaluyong City, produces handmade powder and liquid detergents. With 52 members, the cooperative aims to provide income-generating projects for the disadvantaged in the community.

The turnover ceremony was held at the Manaul Conference Hall at the Office of the Vice President (OVP) Central Office on February 26. It was attended by OVP Chief of Staff Atty. Zuleika T. Lopez, Director for Operations Norman Baloro, SOLID Consumer Cooperative Chairperson Alexander Escobal, OVP staff, and some cooperative members.

MTD is an OVP flagship program that aims to provide entrepreneurial opportunities for vulnerable sectors. The OVP remains committed to serving Filipinos with long-lasting, impactful services.
