P150K livelihood grant for Surigao Sur fishers

The Barangay Habag Fisherfolk Association (BAHAFFA) received a P150,000 livelihood grant as beneficiaries of the Mag Negosyo Ta ‘Day (MTD) program of the Office of the Vice President (OVP).

Led by the OVP-Caraga Satellite Office, the turnover of P150,000 was held at the Barangay Habag Multipurpose Hall in Lanuza town, Surigao del Sur on March 21. The ceremony, led by Rolmar Basalan, OVP-Caraga Satellite Office Lead, was attended by BAHAFFA officials led by Danilo Orillaneda and staff from the Special Projects Division.

BAHAFFA aims to provide opportunities for its members to earn and sell affordable, fresh fish in the community. The grant will be used to augment the association's capital for its fish trading and marketing business.

The OVP is pleased to assist our fellow fishermen and enhance their industry. The OVP hopes to encourage more Filipinos to venture into entrepreneurship for their livelihood improvement.
