Vice President Sara Duterte on Monday visited the Pikit Central Elementary School and Pikit National High School.
The visit happened after a gun attack the killed a young learner and wounded two others in Pikit.
The incident has brought fear among the students and local school officials say it resulted in 65 percent drop our rate.
Because of this, Duterte, who is also the Secretary of the Department of Education, said local authorities should implement Alternative Delivery Mode (ADM) or remote learning instructions for children still afraid to go to school.
Duterte also shared with the students of Pikit the PagbaBAGo campaign of the Office of the Vice President.
Pagbabago campaign is an advocates education for children and for responsible parenthood — stressing that family planning is the best way to ensure that parents are able to provide for their children's needs, especially education.
