Vice President Sara Z. Duterte commends the San Jose del Monte Police for their swift action that led to the capture of an individual who falsely represented the OVP to illegally solicit money in San Jose del Monte, Bulacan on September 6.

The Vice President also expresses her gratitude to San Jose del Monte City Mayor Arthur Robes and his staff for alerting the police about the operations of Joel Calis.

Had it not been immediately reported and acted upon by authorities, the scam carried out by Calis would have emboldened more fraudulent money-making schemes and other illegal acts that could not only compromise government institutions but also potentially victimize the public.

The public is urged to immediately bring to the attention of the authorities individuals and groups that suspiciously solicit money and represent themselves as part of government agencies — for appropriate legal actions.
