Vice President Sara Duterte joined the Department of Transportation’s 125th Founding Anniversary celebration, witnessing the Ceremonial Signing of the Civil Works Contracts for the Davao Public Transport Modernization Project (DPTMP)in Davao City on February 7.
The DPTMP is a bus-based public transport system aimed at enhancing mobility and accessibility in Davao City, in line with the government's Public Utility Vehicle Modernization Program (PUVMP).
By the year 2026, the DPTMP will deploy over 400 18-meter articulated battery buses and more than 700 Euro5-standard diesel buses to operate 29 interconnected routes spanning a total length of 672 kilometers.
The Vice President was excited at the realization of the project, which was one of her initiatives when she was mayor of Davao City.
The Davao Public Transport Modernization Project will be implemented under President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.'s Build Better More Infrastructure Program.
