In the second State of the Nation Address (SONA) of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr, Vice President Sara Duterte is proud to bring the identity of the Maguindanaon tribe by wearing their traditional Bangala dress.
The VP wears the Bangala in recognition of the Moro tribe that lives in South-Central Mindanao.
The Bangala made by Israel Ellah Ungkakay from Cotabato City includes inaul— a local fabric woven from cotton and silk and considered one of their cultural treasures because it represents the honor, bravery, heritage, and history of Maguindanao.
