VP Sara joins water districts convention

Vice President Sara Duterte was pleased to join the 45th Annual Convention of the Philippine Association of Water Districts (PAWD) in Davao City in February.

PAWD advocates for and promotes the interests of water districts, pledging to pave the way for national and international cooperation.

To mitigate the dangers posed by climate change and maintain security in water sources, the Vice President suggested exploring innovative solutions such as using modern technologies like desalination and rainwater harvesting.

The Vice President added that educating the public on proper water usage and wastewater disposal strategies is crucial for ensuring a sustainable supply of clean water. The Office of the Vice President, in collaboration with the Department of Education and the Department of Environment and Natural Resources, is striving to plant a million trees to preserve environmental abundance under the "Pagbabago: A Million Learners and Trees Campaign."

The Vice President urged various water districts and other stakeholders in the private sector to work together to implement climate change action projects. She emphasized the importance of unity in raising public awareness about water conservation and responsible wastewater disposal.
