Vice President Sara Duterte thanked the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) for helping the Office of the Vice President (OVP) in giving out cash assistance to 37 families in Oriental Mindoro that affected by the oil spill on February 28.
The cash assistance, P20,000 to each family, is the third partnership of the OVP and the DSWD after the sinking of MT Princess Empress, which was loaded with 800,000 liters of industrial fuel oil, off the coast of Naujan town. The oil spill affected the livelihood of fishermen in Oriental Mindoro and neighboring provinces.
