Charls, 11, was diagnosed with ankle stiffness at a young age, rendering him unable to stand or walk. To pursue his education, Charls had to be literally carried by his parents. The responsibility became increasingly challenging for the family.

Mary, Charls' mother, sought assistance from the Office of the Vice President. The start of the new year brought meaningful joy when Charls received the wheelchair from the OVP’s Davao Satellite Office on January 8.

According to Mary, the wheelchair has brought significant relief for her son. Charls might return to school the next academic year. The family hopes that more Filipinos will benefit from the Medical Assistance Program of the OVP.
